And soooooo....it begins!

Here it goes again, it’s Double-XP weekend for Call Of Duty: Black Ops, starting Friday, July 1st, 2011. This time it seems to be both on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Time to prestige and level-up faster. I’m still undecided if I should prestige or not, some perks are a pain to complete to reach pro status.

Josh Olin (Treyarch’s Community Manager) posted the news on his twitter account, that the double Xp weekend it indeed happening, as it’s custom, when a new a map pack is released.

In celebration of #Annihilation (and Freedom…), #CODBlackOps Double-XP/CP will be July 1 – 5 (10a PT start / end time). #AllPlatforms -Josh Olin on his Twitter account.

Does double xp only apply to regular modes or does it also apply to hardcore? I'm asking specifcally about the 360. On the PS3, the double xp is only good for regular modes. At least, it was not on for hardcore tdm last night but was for regular tdm.

Wow...that's interesting. I've never checked? I'm usually in only Hardcore matches...I'll check.

CoD: Black Ops title update out now for Xbox 360
Security updates and audio tweaks for Search and Destroy released

Treyarch's launched title update 11 for Call of Duty: Black Ops on Xbox 360.
According to the developer it features a number of unidentified security updates, plus audio tweaks when planting and defusing bombs in Search and Destroy mode.

I think it fixed the whole, spinning while planting the bomb and NOT making a noise issue.....

And Bass you were right about a possible fourth map pack

Call of Duty: Black Ops' third DLC map pack, Annihilation released on Xbox Live mere hours ago, but already Treyarch's dropping hints that a fourth add-on could be in development.
In an interview with Digital Spy, design director David Vonderhaar would not deny the possibility of more downloadable content for the UK's best selling game.

Asked if Treyarch will stop at three map packs, Vonderhaar said: "I can't talk to anything beyond 'Annihilation', but keep your eyes peeled..."

So spinning has not had any effect other than to make you look like a retard since that update in April.

What they are talking about here are tweaks to either make it louder or quieter. I have not played since this update so I don't know which.

Activision has confirmed that the first wave of invites for the Call of Duty Elite beta have been sent out to selected fans today.

The chosen few will be able to download the new social network and explores most of its free community features using Call of Duty: Black Ops. More invites will be issued over the coming weeks.

"The first wave will be very small," warned Activision's social media manager Dan Amrich on his blog. "It will grow with time, so you might not get in immediately. Don't let that worry you; slow and steady is part of the plan. It has to be, or this won't work at all."

He added that while Beachhead won't be able to incorporate the 2m volunteers from the beginning, the goal is to roll out the beta in waves to as many people as possible. There is no fixed end date for the beta.

Full details of the Call of Duty Elite feature set and its integration with Modern Warfare 3 will be announced at September's Call of Duty XP event.

Yes on Thursday. So what they do is give everyone a X2-XP and then the platform that does not get the map pack gets the 24hr Nuketown. So PS3 ges the map pack (finally...heh) and we on the xbox get the 24hr Nuketown....meh.
