I really hope that it's not just 2 players, but for some reason I have a feeling that it is... =/

MW2 spec ops was 2 player. I think 4 player would be better. Or it will never be on par with the 3arch zombies.

It's not that it's not "on par", it's a different co-op mode. The thing of it is, it just isn't as fun with just 2 people. When I go to play something co-op, I want at least a 4 player room if not 5 or 6. Look at every other co-op mode in other games, everything that I can think of off hand has at least 4 player rooms.

This is why you rarely ever saw anyone ever even play Spec Ops in MW2 other than just to get the achievements for them, it just flat out isn't as fun with just 2 players. Don't get me wrong, it's a good co-op mode and it is fun, but not as fun as it would be with more friends to play it with. And Treyarch has no h when using the 3, just so you know...

Here's more about the survival mode:

Quote:
So that trailer has been online for a while now, showcasing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Spec Ops survival mode.
Activision really did squeeze as much as possible into the trailer, revealing a number of new features set to be included in the mode (and the multiplayer).
The trailer was a bit of a tease, so we've broken up the 10 most important things you must know about Spec Ops leading into Modern Warfare 3's launch this November.
On-the-fly challenges reward skill
The little cash counter that appears in the bottom left-hand corner throughout the trailer alludes to an on-the-fly challenges system, which rewards you for actions used through a match.

The trailer showcases bonuses rewarded for achieving a killstreak and even getting an assist with a flashbang.
Experience driven by action and reward
Instead of simply dropping you into a map with the single objective of staying alive, Spec Ops is driven by fast-paced action, constant weapon upgrades and critical tactical placement. Everything you do in the mode has a means, and every action equates to a reward in some regard, be it XP, cash or a killstreak.
Armory locations are always accessible
Armory's are located throughout each map, giving you access to weapons, equipment and air support. While these armory's are temporarily inaccessible shortly after you use them, they can be accessed at any point throughout a match.
In the early waves, visiting these armory's is possible, however, the pace of the gameplay later on means you'll be best served to wait until after you've cleared an entire wave of enemies.
If you manage to run out of ammo right in the middle of the wave, the armory's are generally located in closed areas, typically away from the action. They can be quickly accessed and used. However, enemies will still come at you, so it might be best to set up shop away from the armory's, just in case you do need to visit them in the middle of a wave.
Promotions allude to ranking system
Roughly half-way through the trailer we get a little look at the mode's "Promotions", or "New Unlocks". These seem to be perks, not unlike those generally available for use in Call of Duty competitive multiplayer matches.
The interesting thing is that this alludes to a ranking system of sorts, which raises a lot of questions. Are unlocked perks exclusive to one of the two players in the mode? Are rankings carried over to other modes in the game? Do ranks reset at the end of every wave?

The concern here is that these unlocks add an extra level of individualism to an experience especially focused on team work. It is driven by the ways in which you and your teammate interact with the environment to counter the waves of enemies. If one player has a higher rank than the other, and therefore more perks, will that unbalance how the mode is played? Will it lead to one player doing his own thing based on what he has available, all the while leaving his lower-ranked teammate to struggle without as many perks?
Armory's are quick, easy and detailed
The three armory's available to you have been designed with simplicity in mind, and this mentality perfectly compliments the pacing of the Spec Ops experience. Cycling through each weapon is simple and fast, and the game clearly displays which weapons are available to you and which aren't.
Air support calls in AI-controlled friendlies
Many questions have been raised about the "Air support" armory: what does it do? How do we access it? Is it a killstreak?
Just as with weapons and equipment, you unlock new air support as you earn XP, with your cash reserves dictating which air support squad you can call in, each with their own level of aggression. Put simply, the more expensive the air support is, the harder it will be for the enemy to take it down.

The big question is: will we be able to shoot down the air vehicles before the support arrives on the ground? One would hope so.
The dogs friggin' explode!
The dogs are frustrating. Anyone that's played World at War would probably agree with that. However, the killstreak's effectiveness cannot be questioned: dogs attack with precision, aggression and the killer instinct you need to beat the enemy.
Now there's a twist: explosive dogs!
Hot dogs, anyone? Just make sure you shoot them from a distance.
Team chemical agents are frighteningly effective
The trailer shows three different air support options, with two locked out and labeled as "classified". From the trailer we can assume that the two locked ones are team chemical agents and the Big Daddy-like beasts that seem as though they can shoot through a riot shield without many issues.
"Delta squad" and "Riot shield squad" sound intimidating in their own accord, so whatever is below them must be pretty hardcore. Did you see the gas marks throughout the trailer? And the speed at which these "chemical agents" get around?
Just hope they're on your side.

There Will Be Blood...gore and dust
See what I did there? trollface.jpg.
Anyway, as mentioned above, Spec Ops is driven by its frantic pacing and action-packed agenda. The first few levels are cheap fun and don't offer much of a challenge, but the action quickly takes off a few levels in.
And boy does it get messy! With enemies, explosive dogs and chemical agents coming at you from every side, you can bet your sweet backside that what's on offer in this Survival mode is going to have you on the edge of your seat.
Will you survive...?

Looks like there's BOTH a Spec-op Mode AND CO-OP mode:

Quote:
Spec Ops Survival mode has been the focus lately, but as with MW2, there are still co-op Missions within Spec Ops, too. There will be a ranking system that tracks your progress through both modes, so you will be able to see if your random partner is as experienced as you are. What’s more, the modes are symbiotic: As you rank up in Survival, you will unlock new Mission modes, and if you score well in the Mission modes, you will unlock maps and weapons for Survival. They build on each other, which is nice. But that ranking system covers both modes — it’s unified, so you will have an overall Spec Ops rank. And that’s totally different from whatever you might wind up doing in the game’s other single or multiplayer modes.

And for the couch co-op commandos, you will be very happy to hear that Spec Ops offers split-screen co-op play. I know to a lot of people who have many gamers but one console in their homes, this is huge — it was a common topic for letters back at OXM among family members with different gamertags but one Xbox for the family. That won’t be a problem for MW3 Spec Ops.

What about split screen in traditional multiplayer, I hear you ask? I don’t know yet — but MP details are expected to be revealed at Call of Duty XP, so I’ll ask again there. This is what I know for now.

Midnight you’re in luck!

Earn Double XP In Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 With Mountain Dew Purchase

Quote:
The promotions just don’t ever seem to end when it comes to Call of Duty. In what might be considered as a sensible marriage of brands, Mountain Dew and Call of Duty are teaming up to provide gamers with a chance to earn additional XP when gamers purchase Mountain Dew.

As stated in the press notice…
Quote:
…fans will have the chance to earn DOUBLE XP when they purchase any participating Mtn Dew product this Fall. As a part of this, Mountain Dew will also be on-site at next week’s Call of Duty XP event to host activities and tell fans about the program
So there you go. If you buy Mountain Dew you’ll have a chance to earn extra XP when playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. I’m sure die-hard fans will think of this as being uber-cool considering that most core gamers probably already drink Mountain Dew and now you’ll be receiving in-game benefits for doing so, starting this fall.

The new Mountain Dew Game Fuel will also be on store shelves just in time for the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, when it hits store shelves on November 8th.

Need to learn more? Probably not, because there’s not much else to learn but you can visit the Official Website anyway.

Of course MW3 wouldn’t be complete without the MW3 Jeep!!

I guess what i find funny, it looks EXACTLY like my current Jeep minus the color....

Quote:

Is a classic car show a good place to find gaming news? Probably not. At least, not unless the show is Detroit’s annual Woodward Dream Cruise. The rolling event, which spans several miles and over a million people in one day, brings hobbyists, collectors, and manufacturers together in a epic display of muscle.
Chrysler’s MOPAR division chose this location to showcase several of its own muscle, including the update to last year’s Call of Duty Black Ops Edition of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, and we had a first look.

The aptly named Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Edition looks to be a worthy successor to the Black Ops Edition for one reason alone: you’ll actually be able to drive this one without terrifying neighborhood children. Where the Black Ops version was offered with over-the-top accessories like snorkels and break-away doors, the MW3 Edition is based more on stealth and designed-in utility.

We spoke to some of the Jeep staff on hand to get details on the vehicle. The most important thing they told us, which they’d learned from the 2011 model year version, is to put more attention to some of the finer details. This includes a bumper redesign in the front that spaces the fog lights further apart, an update hood with several functional mesh grilles relieves, new wheels, and a rear bumper that can be filled with water for “a variety of uses”.

Other details include updated emblems. Where BlOps used flat decals, the MW3 edition uses metallic emblems and badges to showcase its newness. This was all part of an attempt to help not only differentiate from last year’s model, but to also to emphasize the “Modern” part of the game’s name. In the very near future, it seems that sculpted features are more important that slapping basic badging on a car. Smart move, as it’s quite striking as a feature.

The team told us they still have a lot to do before this Fall’s release, including working on the interior elements (the seats and many IP elements were still being designed) and exterior accessories. From what we saw, though, the changes that they’ve made are already looking great.
Look for more information to be revealed this Fall.
