Why Memorial Day is often confused with Veterans Day

I thought this was a good read. Often folks tell me during Memorial Day ‘Thank-you for your service.’ I want to let them know, it’s not my day....it’s for those that have passed. Anyway here you go:

I totally understand what you mean. I still say thank you. I don't want to be rude to who says it.

Well I hope our service members arent upset when thanked on Memorial Day. I doubt thats anyones intent. We need more days honestly to remember what we take for granted, so ill continue to thank you guys if thats cool with you guys.

I usually thank them AND their family cause I assume they arent the only ones in their family to have served, but either way, im appreciative for what they do, and hopefully letting them know doesnt upset them.

That said, Thanks to YOU two boys (and the rest of our vets) who have given over half your lives to our country.
