well i believe the name of one of sportofu's flag things under his signature is the f word so when ever a page tried to load with his thing on there it would stop. yea so pretty much nything with the f word or other curses of that nature woudl stop the page and some pictures wouldnt load even though they were fine and not "adult content"

This is a good site I found... it's fun, it lets you create custom guitars and whatnot. You cant directly save the guitars, but you can always use the "Print Screen" button to take a snapshot of it...

I was a music major for 3+ years. I was 1st chair Mid-State and 2nd chair All-State Percussionist in Tennessee in 1992. My forte is traditional afro-cuban (or "Salsa") music; i.e. Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, etc. To give you an idea, lots of old (and some new) Santana stuff is based on afro-cuban rhythms. If you're into deep rhythms, you should check those artists out; some of those grooves will blow your mind. Try to get your hands on a copy of a song called "Quimbara" by Celia Cruz. It's a traditional form of rumba called "guaguanco." It makes current popular music seem as boring and ridiculous as a McDonald's hamburger.

I like alot of types of music, mostly for nostalgic reasons, like 80's music. Genesis, Peter Gabriel (whatever happened to him, anyway), the Police.

Cool. I also play bass; I have a '67 Fender Jazz Reissue. Where do you plan on going for music?

Julliard. Ambitious. Nice choice. So you're choosing classical performance. Good luck; if you're accepted and graduate, you'll have no problem finding a career in performance.

It's too bad that I didn't try for any of the big schools when I decided to go into music. I received some poor advice and ended up at Middle Tennessee State University. They have a decent music program, but it's more for music educators in the southeast, not for performance. I played in the Middle Tennessee Symphony (primarily Nashville Symphony musicians) for 5 years; I have the skills to be the principle timpanist in a professional orchestra, I just didn't persue it like I should've. I still play though and always will.

If you're an upright bass player, you should check out a guy by the name of Cachao. He's an innovator in contemporary latin-jazz style and a proto-typical afro-cuban bass player. And you must be a John Patitucci fan, right?

actually Im more leaning toward Jaco Pastorius but yeah I enjoy playing bass and if I get into one of the big time symphonys and become a private teacher,I could make alot of money but I am thinking of doing that after some service time in the airforce so I actually have money to pay for Julliard
