I don't know about MW3 on the PS3, but DICE really dropped the ball for us on BF3 chat. It's non-existant.

Yeah, I thought about that. Sucks. It would make for some great battles if DICE catered to clans. There is a huge need for organized teamwork in each match to be successful.

Sales != quality

just look at COD...oooo I went there.

besides, I wasn't talking about sales. This game was built from the ground up for PC, then considerably shrunk down so it would run on the current gen consoles.

so my point was, it plays better on PC because it was built first and foremost for PC. And tech issues on the console are a cause of porting, and the console being stretched to its technical limit(even with the shrinking of the game).

aaaaaand a good day to you sir!

I was just prepping you for the inevitable demise of PC gaming. (I've heard it from a couple of studios)

Anyone looking at those numbers will NOT be able to justify the man hours it takes to do the PC version. I wonder if they even broke even.

New game modes. And actually I noticed this last night while pubbing. Ricochet is back!

Quote:
Developer Infinity Ward is describing the Community Playlists as the most significant change, as these will allow them to add popular private match modes to the public playlists. Modern Warfare 3 allows anyone to create their own customised rulesets for private matches and this new update will let you play the most interesting.

The three new game modes are Drop Zone, Hardcore HQ Richochet, and Hardcore Ricochet. The following descriptions come straight from an Infinity Ward post on the Modern Warfare 3 forums:
' Drop Zone

Get to the drop zone to earn points, the first team to 7500 points wins the round, but thats not all. As long as the Drop Zone is occupied, a care package will drop every 15 seconds, which ever team has the most members in the drop zone at that point "owns" the care package, but anyone can steal it. This is the only way to earn air support in this mode, all other pointstreaks are disabled. You'll earn 20 points per team member, for every second they're in the drop zone plus 20 XP individually for your time spent in the zone. Kills are worth 50 XP in this mode.

Custom Settings: Pointstreaks (besides those obtained through in-game care packages) are disabled.

Hardcore HQ Ricochet

We'll be adding Hardcore Headquarters to the Hardcore Team Tactical playlist.

Hardcore Ricochet

We'll be converting all Hardcore modes to Ricochet variant as a response to team killing. This means, any friendly fire, is applied to the attacker, rather than the victim. So choose your shots wisely and any attempt to team kill will simply kill yourself.'

Awesome stuff. But I can not help but be absolutely dumbfounded at a statement like this:

The crazy team killing in hard core modes began in 2007 with CoD4. So....after 4 solid years of team killing they are NOW responding? Why do they not START with the ricochet instead of always putting it in as an afterthought months after the release? (They did the exact same thing in CoD4..and again in MW2)

My guess is they are very optimistic about the community: "Maybe this time they will behave." .... LOL

it sucks that devs even have to step in to address teamkilling.

This is one reason why consoles will become a better place when they allow dedi servers with admins who can remove these tards from the game and perma ban them from the server.

unfortunately the way IW is handling it is the best way possible...any other way and shooter wouldnt be able to play any hardcore ever!

Totally agree. Unfortunately it is just human nature for some that the way they enjoy only gaming is by going out of their way to just try to ruin others fun.

Dedi servers would be freaking awesome. Rainbow 6 (1 or 2...I forget which) did it for the Xbox and it was ok. Pretty much ALL those servers had horrible and unplayable lag as they were all hosted on home connections. No one has done it since. It is clearly difficult to make such a thing happen with so much proprietarity (LOOK! I made up a word!) in the way.

And normally the Devs are the ones who start it all by giving themselves the titles and then spreading it to the rest of the world.
I got "Infected" by a friend from work. If anyone wants me to stab them just let me know.
