Shipment was ok, I like a good fast paced map to get warmed up on. As long as Wetworks or whatever that one was on the boat in the rain doesnt get thrown in there, yuck. I'm glad they are coming out with DLC so fast and prob bcz they are using old maps. Hopefully down the road it will be new maps, gear, etc.

I liked some aspects of wetworks.........I really wish they'd bring back creek though. That and crossfire are my favorite CoD maps.

I really wish they would make new maps...but IW's style is to just put out shit they already made and cash in again

Upcoming MW3 Patch and HotFixe updates revealed:

Quote:
Five title updates have already been released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in an effort to address continual problems with the game’s multiplayer. Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward pointed out that MW3 is going to be getting patch 1.06 or title update #6.

Bear in mind, patches need to go through Sony and Microsoft’s certification processes for download on your console. Meanwhile “HotFixes” may be released at any moment with no need to be downloaded.

On the list of improvements which are in the works for a “Hot Fix” update are fixes which would eliminate several glitches like the infinite laptop killstreak and suffering no recoil, in addition to some exploits that enabled gamers to get beyond certain multiplayer maps limits.

There’s currently no launch date for the “HotFixes” or Title Update 6, but we may expect them to be released before year end.

List of past MW3 patches:

Enabled Theater, Vault, Private Match options, Elite and Facebook functionality for Launch Day
Fix for YouTube video upload on SD TVs. Matchmaking Improvements
Theater Improvements (Fix to FF and RW in Theater), LAG improvements, Improvements to Hot Fix system
Change to address hitching and lag in gameplay
Further improvements for hitching and addressing lag in gameplay
Update #6 currently in Development:

#6: Additional improvements to address lag. Fix for Melee Jump. Clan Tag Validation (remove buttons from clan tags). Improve Host Migration logic. Prevent stat Loss.

Hot Fix Updates:

No Recoil glitch
Infinite Laptop killstreak glitch (Stealth Bomber Glitch)
Map Exploits (Getting into trucks, under maps) Fix
Prevent Slow-mo and Super Fast lobbies

Hot Fixes after Patch #6:

Weapon Rebalancing (Dual FMG-9, Type-95, CM-901 Attachments)
Hitmarker Sound on Ps3
Reticle fix for certain weapons

Community feedback currently in discussion:

Updates to the Spawn system
Further “lag compensation” or “host advantage / disadvantage” updates plus ability for on-going hot fixes based on feedback
Default :30 Round Start timer for System Link only, while looking into adjustable timer for System Link games for Competitive Play
Options to allow System Link players to ‘unlock all’ for competitive play in System Link only

It seems to be better.

Of note: I’ve heard around if you turn off “Recording’ it will limit your lag. You have to do it from the Main Menu. So far I’ve done it and it does seem to run smoother. I guess the thought behind it: if you run with recording on, it slows down your game play as it’s pinging back to the Activision or whomever is hosting our gameplay.

your gameplay is not hosted by activision. It is hosted by the host of the room(someones xbox somewhere). The servers for COD exist to provide matchmaking and connectivity. Once you get in a lobby you are no longer on servers, you are in a room hosted on someones XBOX.

now to recording...turning it on or off shouldn't matter at all. The way these recording systems work is to store location data for all things that happened in the match. then when you watch the video, the game actually renders the gameplay from that data. Its not actually a video.

The collection of that data would have no impact on your latency.

sure it could if the net code is bad, even if its just jotting down reference numbers, and with elite now, it has an effect on the game somehow.

I'm gonna ask you questions, and every time you don't give me answers, I'm gonna cut something off. And I promise you...

No Rator!! DG DESIGNS for game producers like Zipper, he knows exactly what IW's NETWORK structure is like and what will, and will not effect the game...

Bottom line is, anything that can reduce traffic will help prevent bottle necking and helps reduce latency. Turning off recording will help, it does not collect after the game, because you still have video if someone dashboards.

Also, there is always a connection to Activision or else how would they be able to integrate the new patch to start collecting match details throughout the game, instead of once you reach the lobby. (To prevent dashboarders).

'New Modes Coming To Modern Warfare 3'

Infinity Ward thinking about new MW3 game modes says creative strategist Rob Bowling

Quote:
Modern Warfare 3 DLC is still the stuff of specualtion, but additional modes are in the pipeline Robert Bowling has confirmed.

"We're discussing some additional modes now, I'll let you know when you can expect that," he tweeted to a follower that suggested hardcore headquarters and the possibility of making other game modes hardcore.

Bowling also confirmed that the number of players in Survival mode would not be altered.

MW3 generated $1 billion in just 16 day, Activision announced today
One can hope they’re good....

Modern Warfare 3 Lag and Communication Woes Being Fixed in Patch v1.07 and Coming Updates

Quote:
Although it experienced a smooth launch, this year’s iteration of Call of Duty has had its share of issues. Modern Warfare 3‘s balance has been a problem, reminiscent of its predecessor’s akimbo 1887 shotguns, but Infinity Ward are adamant about continually updating the title. So much that within the next week the title will see its seventh update despite the game being released in early November.

Robert Bowling shared a major improvement coming in Modern Warfare 3‘s v1.07 update via Twitter.

Quote:
TU7 [Title update 7] is solely focused on addressing Host Disadvantage “Lag compensation”. To make gameplay better for better connections.
The issue with Call of Duty games, including Modern Warfare 3, is that games are hosted by a random player in each lobby. As such, the player hosting has a latency advantage. This is a particularly strange design method especially after integrating Call of Duty Elite, an almost repugnant subscription service for the latest game.

For those tired of voice communication issues on Modern Warfare 3, Robert bowling has some additional positive news:

Quote:
An update to improve voice chat on PS3 will be in a title update coming out in Jan.
Update v1.07 is slated to launch within the next week, and will be followed up by additional updates, including the voice chat fix mentioned above.
