As some of you might or might not know....I've moved back to Nashville. Well, go figure there'd be an Airsoft course set to a Black OPS map down the street!! Hobo and Swit we're going to have meet up and play this!!

Frank Mucerino Jr. and Justin Shepherd wanted to create an airsoft game course in Dickson mirroring the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops.

They had a 30,000 square-foot indoor facility to mold, and initially considered opening a paintball course before shifting to airsoft.

The longtime friends researched airsoft course concepts and incorporated their experiences from the video game for three months before opening Mooseherd Airsoft in March beneath Sir Pizza in The Plaza.

The facility includes a 26,000 square-foot course called The War Bunker, complete with three primary settings: The Village; Urban Wasteland; and the low-lit Red Room.

“We wanted it to look as real as possible, and bring it to life where when you come in it looks like a dilapidated city,” said Shepherd. “It looks like something you would find in a war zone or a modern urban war setting. Everything is realistic.”

Participants enter The War Bunker through a staging area and briefing room, where they’re given safety instructions, game rules and prepare their combat gear.

They proceed to The Village where they can take cover in a public transit bus, or behind the shell of an ambulance bay, stacks of tires, drums, road barrels and camouflaged palates.

Eight outbuildings and four vehicles provide cover throughout The War Bunker, along with several walls, nooks and crannies. The Village features an elevated walkway accessible through two sets of stairwells for a bird’s eye view of the course.

“It’s as real as you want to make it, and honestly the more real it becomes the more fun it actually is,” said Shepherd.

The bunker’s three courses are connected. Urban Wasteland provides a close-quarter combat environment, while The Red Room, or “Nuked,” is black-lit to create a radioactive, low-light arena.
