It was just a mater of time...

first map pack?

A few weeks ago, we reported on alleged Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty 4 map files found in Modern Warfare 3. In the previous leak, the maps were CoD4′s Crash, Crossfire, Strike, and Overgrown along with MW2′s Highrise. Apparently, there are three other classic maps and two new ones to join the MW3 map rumor mill.

This new, apparently leaked flyer reveals that on the 12th of January, 2012, Modern Warfare 3 will receive its first map pack packing in five maps, two brand new ones (Aftershock and Fallout), two from MW2 (Terminal and Favela), and the smallest map from CoD 4 (Shipment). This map pack is supposedly going to be available for all MW3 players on that date with Elite paid members having a head start earlier. Take this leak with a big grain of salt since the word “unrational” technically isn’t a real word, but keep in mind that Activision did make up a word in the past with “Mapathy”.

I see they are sticking with the style of charging way too much for shit people already bought once.

Crossfire and Crash would be motivation enough for me to pick up MW3. But Shipment? That's unrational.

...it is a "cage match" sized map that took them 10% of the time (or less...) than it took them to make any other map...

The whole idea that we prepaid for the maps and then this is what we get? I am feeling that I wasted my money. The rest of the DLC better be freaking spectacular....

yeah but would you have gotten the map pack if you didnt get elite? im sure 99% of the people are gonna be pissed that they are rotating old maps in there but they would have bought them anyways if they didnt have elite...so your still saving money.

what you said is 100% correct. I would have bought the maps anyway. That does not mean that I do not care whether or not I will get my moneys worth. I am in a clan that plays this game competitively. We HAVE to get the maps.

So add that to the fact that I prepaid for them all and you get: "Really?!?!"

I actually like that they are including some older maps for playing in MW3. Just the other day I heard another [SS] say they would like to see Favela in MW3. But who asked for Shipment? It was never a "serious" map and I just do not agree with pricing it along with serious maps. Is it even considered a "map"? My backyard at my old house was the same size. My backyard!

I am kinda putting the map down here even though I enjoyed it as a change from the way the other maps played. It was different and radically so. Which ever team gets to and controlled the storage boxes won as the subsequent air strikes and whatnot killed anyone not under cover. But....it is like a novelty thing. Not something I would (if I had a choice) pay for. For example: if I had the option of paying for maps individually I would get all but that one. As It will never be a SEAL map.

So sticking that in a DLC pack is like when politicians put weird things in bills they want passed.

Unless you are a child hater you have to pass the bill.

Tons of people love the small maps like shipment....so im sure thats why they are adding it...nobody gets their moneys worth from dlc in shooters...15 bucks for 5 maps isnt a great deal but everyone buys it anyways....and you get it sooner then people that dont have elite

well its not too hard when most of the pack is maps you already had made...years ago...in the exact same engine so there is no updating required

Anyone get the "STD" or "Infected" titles yet? I want.

For those who do not know: STD is gained by stabbing someone who has and is wearing the title and Infected is gained by getting stabbed by someone who is wearing the title. And normally the Devs are the ones who start it all by giving themselves the titles and then spreading it to the rest of the world.

Hmmm....

Quote:
MOAB (25 kills)
MOAB

The MOAB (Mother of All Bombs) is a hidden killstreak available with any Strike Package. It's earned by getting a 25 killstreak, not including Strike Package kills. The MOAB works pretty much like the Tactical Nuke from Modern Warfare 2; it kills every enemy on the map and causes an EMP-effect for the enemy team by eliminating all enemy equipment, electronics and killstreaks for 1 minute.

The MOAB doesn't end the match. The team that uses the MOAB will have double XP for the remainder of that match.
