What's the standard recoil in MW3? On a scale of MW2 to firing the M249 on CS:S

well after years of doing it, you figure the ctrl-c, ctrl-v design process was still in effect ;)
I remember them saying this was going back to a more gun v gun style play that COD4 had. From everything I have read and seen it looks like the complete opposite. one thing is clear, the more you add, the harder it is to balance. MW2 was the worst example of balance I have ever seen, and this is shaping up to be worse from all the info we have been fed. Of course I'll reserve final judgement until I play the damn thing...But I guarantee there will be an immediate way to set up a class that is the most annoying thing in the world to other players...and I will use the shit out of it. Of course, you can do that with ANY game unless you ALL use the same gun, perk, etc, and that's not fun.

Pretty sure i do. But that's what you seem to want. You make a game where no one thinks ANY weapon is unbalanced and I'll ask you if I can have a ride on your boat.
I thought MW2 was a great game. I played in rooms that suited my style of play, and with private matches 4 nights a week, we could rig things how we like too. I've always pubbed with my comp classes and done just fine against the "annoyers" and it never bothered me. So what if someone's using "the best gun in the game". So what if you think it's overpowered or not balanced. Does that make the game not good and fun to play? No. If there was a gun that was twice as powerful as all of the others, i might use it, i might not, but it wont ruin my experience if others are. (btw i never used ghost in public and never got as pissed as people did when airstrikes came in, i just ducked inside somewhere or rode it out, big deal) The game is going to be fun as shit. I don't think we played a single round all week where we weren't hysterically laughing about something. So take it for what it is, tactical shooter+arcade and enjoy it or play something else. There are lots of games out there you can play, but few hold the production values and fun that the IW/COD series has delivered. I'm gonna ask you questions, and every time you don't give me answers, I'm gonna cut something off. And I promise you... they will be things you will miss! |

The production value is good on the games, I just don't think adding so much AI into a competitive game is a smart move.
Taking away player interaction is not something I find fun in a game. I want to kill shit, I dont want to have to rely on an AI controlled drone to do my killing for me. This "press X to win" model is very poor for gaming in my opinion. Ill have to reserve most of my judgement for when I play it, but from looking at the vids, its the same old crap that we have been playing for years now. My main thing with the COD franchise is they keep trying to remove the skill cap. You dont have to be good at games to be good at COD. They have so many fail safes in there to help people play without learning how to actually get good at the game. DatGuy "doubts my connections". |
