Revenge: 5 deaths – see position of last enemy that killed you on your mini-map.

There is so much in this thread we can't keep track of what's been posted & not lol

[SS]Midnight 09-07-2011 04:22 PM

For this title so much more information has been released then ever before. It is a virtual information overload.

With the XP event more info has been released to the media than usual so as to give them their usual credit rather than Joe Gamer releasing more info than the media.

And there their is us trying to get it all out as fast as we get it. So there is bound to be a lot of repeat info. Better more than less.

Bassani 09-07-2011 04:31 PM

I lost the link, but I saw that the Elite premium was $50 per year

S10Draven 09-07-2011 09:00 PM

yeah its 50 a yr....40 for the first year if you buy hardened version....one thing i seen was that they will be releasing new maps every month or so and elite premium get them first.

Bassani 09-08-2011 03:05 AM

Well, that same link had said $60 for the DLC. At the going rate since MW2, it's been 5 maps for $15, so that looks like 4 packs & I estimate every 3 months. If you plan on getting the DLC, then it's best to just get the Hardened version & save yourself $20 if you can afford it up front...

S10Draven 09-08-2011 07:43 PM

In the video I seen they said with elite premium new maps every month.....the video was takin during the xp event

I didn’t see this stuff posted up?

The document also goes into some detail about the Weapon ranking system. The basic gist of this is that you can unlock both improvements (like attachments) and proficiencies (specialized attributes) for individual weapons.
Proficiencies (not a comprehensive list):

Kick – Reduced recoil when firing
Attachments - Two attachments on Primary weapon
Focus – Reduced flinch when hit
Stability – Reduced sway when ADS
Attachments (not a comprehensive list):
Red Dot Sight
Silencer
Holographic sight
Dual Scope (Close Range/Long Range Optics)

In addition to the new weapon leveling stuff they have added some new perks. I'd like to add that, according to a presentation by Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward and Michael Condry of Sledgehammer Games, there will be no Commando perk in Modern Warfare 3.

NEW PERKS
Recon – Explosive damage paints the target on the mini map
Blind Eye – Undetectable by air support/sentries
Assassin – Undetectable by UAV, portable radar, thermal, heartbeat
Quickdraw – Faster aim down sight
Stalker – Move faster while aiming
Marksman – Identify targets at longer range

The next part of the document focuses on the new gametypes that will be added to Modern Warfare 3. I'm not certain if Team Defender was actually on display at COD XP, but Kill Confirmed was. According to everyone I talked to, Kill Confirmed was a fun mode. I spent my playtime playing conventional multiplayer modes or the Spec Ops, so I missed out on these two new modes.
Kill Confirmed – Collect dog tags from killed players. Prevent the other team from collecting yours
Team Defender – Grab the flag and protect the flag carrier to increase your team’s score

Activision's document also included information about New Game Mods that would only be available for Private Matches.

NEW GAME MODES FOR PRIVATE MATCH
Infection – The infected kills enemies to recruit them for the infected team.
Drop Zone – Hold the Drop Zone for Team Points and Care Packages.
Team Juggernaut – With the support of a juggernaut, kill players on the opposing team. The first team to reach the score limit wins.
Juggernaut – Kill the Juggernaut to become the new Juggernaut.
Gun Game – Be the first to dominate with every gun.
One in the Chamber – Gain ammo by eliminating enemies. Be the last to survive.

CUSTOMIZABLE GAME MODES FOR PRIVATE MATCH
Private matches have been significantly enhanced to allow players to create new, customizable game modes in addition to the new modes for private matches (listed above) and share newly created games modes with friends.
Through ELITE, subscribers can vote on favorite new modes and those modes could make their way into public playlists.
The penultimate topic of the document was dedicated servers.
DEDICATED SERVERS: Modern Warfare 3 will support dedicated servers on Day 1
Players will be able to: browse, filter, favorite, and join Call of Duty®: MW3 dedicated servers of their choice.
Players will be able to setup their own server and administer their MW3 dedicated servers with direct control over features such as game rules, setup and ban lists.
Last, but not least, the document talks about Spec Ops mode. Spec Ops was my favorite part of Modern Warfare 2 and I had a lot of fun with it at Call of Duty XP.
SPECIAL OPS (CO-OPERATIVE GAMEPLAY): Having made its introduction in Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2, Special Ops makes its return in Modern Warfare 3 with a bevy of additions that innovate as a stand-alone mode, but also serves as an effective springboard into multiplayer action.
Survival Mode: – Making its first appearance in MW3, Survival Mode is the New Special Ops mode in which players face wave upon wave of attacking enemies. Acquaint yourself with all 16 MP maps by playing through them on Survival Mode – a great way for players to prepare for online multiplayer.
Mission Mode: Mission Mode makes its return, allowing players to team up with a friend locally or online for 16 new time-trial and objective-based missions.
Ranking/Progression System: An independent rank progression system within Special Ops which spans both Mission and Survival based on the rank progression players encounter in multiplayer.

I’m confused. The ‘Official’ forums for MW3 are up. However, is this how forums will look in the future?

Edit: Okay...I found where they’re located. A bit confusing.

DatGuy 09-23-2011 01:26 PM

how can they have a perk to reduce recoil, when none of their guns had recoil to begin with, everything in MW2 was a fucking laser weapon
