Haven't seen any of you rock stars posting about this one yet. We just bought and it's 'meh' so far... sorry had to steal Chenzo's word.

Maybe they'll be better songs unlocked toward the end, like Freebird that my wife just told me about. So far, I like the song selection on GH1 better.

I didn't really like GHII very much when I was going through it on easy, but this time around on medium, it's growing on me...especially when you get to do the encore's. When I got to play Freebird, I went crazy!!! It's not as fun as a real guitar, but it's still very cool. dancingban

I got it the other day and I am just learning but I have to wear my floties. I have beat it on easy and Medium. I can't complete a hard yet but its going to happen.

I had a buddy come over with his and we did co op. That is bad ass you can play together or battle it out.

I like unlocking the different Bass guitars.

Its a fun game, or GH1 is anyway. I havnt played GH2 yet so I cant comment on it. It looks to be the same as 1 with a few tweaks in it so its probably a little better and thats by the reviews. I just cant move my fingers that fast so I suck at it, lol.

I am up to expert mode now. I think I finished the 20th or so song on it last night. I love to play "Sweet Child of Mine" and "Freebird". This game is probably the best game that I have ever played...EVER!

nice jeff! you beat hard? Thats not easy...Im halfway thru expert stuck on Freya. Thats the only damn song left in that set before i can move on. I cant beat it. I dont think i'll ever beat it.

Note: If you beat easy mode you get a guitar, if you beat easy mode with 5 stars on all songs, you get another guitar. (if you hit all notes in a song you get 5 yellow stars instead of outline stars)

If you beat medium you get a guitar, if you beat medium with 5 stars on all songs, you get another guitar. I only figured this out cause i beat all of the mediums, then saw that Hangar 18 only had 4 stars. I had already beaten freebird so i got the one guitar, but then figured, eh ill go back and just beat that one with 5 stars and it gave me another guitar.

I assume the same is true for beating hard with 5 stars, but yea good luck with that...I did beat all but 1 song on hard the first time thru. (Sweet child..., took me 3 times i dont know why!)

OK...as of tonight, I have 32 of 40 songs beaten on Expert. I beat Freya yesterday afternoon. Some of the ones after it aren't that difficult. Now, I am on the 7th set. I didn't get to see my stats of Freya, because I had the encore after it, but I got 3 stars on it with 100166 points. I haven't heard an update on anyone else in a while, so let me know how far you guys have gotten.

Yes and no.

I play a real guitar...It's good for your finger dexterity, but like on GH I, I kept messing up the strumming at first to several songs because it was different. Sometimes there aren't as many "notes" on a real song and more on the GH version, it's more picking - so they change it up a little bit by giving you more notes to play on the game instead.

I still need to get GH II, but I think I'll be waiting a while on anymore PS games until I get PS3 after March some time.

Finally beat Psychobilly Freakout and made it through YYZ with little trouble. I now have 4 songs left. Institutionalized is going to have me institutionalized, I think. I tried Hangar 18 and got 60 something %, but I haven't gotten serious about this set yet. Maybe later tonight I'll put forth some effort and see what happens. I guarantee you that I will have to try them several times before I even get close to beating them.

I never did "honestly" beat either one of the last two songs on GH1. I did "beat" one of them using a code that I found on the internet to keep your power meter at full strength all the time. sillysmile I really don't count that as beating it though. That's why I never said anything about it.

I actually haven't played GH at all in about a week or so. I'm hooked on DDR now! It's almost as cool as GH, but you actually have to move around while playing, which means free exercie for me! It even has a workout mode that keeps up with how many calories you've supposedly burned and how many miles you've jogged! Pretty neat!

Seriously, if I had truly cheated, I would have claimed that I had beaten the song. I never made a claim like that. I kept saying that I had not. GH1 didn't have the practice mode, so I think that the code that I used was nothing more than that. If you can't beat a song on GH2, all you have to do is play practice mode until you're more comfortable playing it. Cut me a little slack will ya guys? Well, I guess I can't compete with that (yet). Congratulations. I played GH1 the other day, and got 95% on Cowboys. Man was I upset when I lost! I played GH2 yesterday, and beat Institutionalized and Misrilou on Expert. I only have Hangar 18 and Freebird left on Expert. It'll be like part one, two songs left and no chance with either of them! bigcry2

Well I am Massively late to join in on this thread, simply because for a long time I didnt see what the the hell the big deal was...

Until about 3 weeks ago. I was in best buy and they had a huge 52 in plasma with a ps2 and GH2 connected to it with 2 guitars, and to comfy ass seats.

It was as if God himself had prepared this for me and my good friend/clan mate.


We were like what the hell lets try this..

After 1 song I was immediately hooked, and we played like 7 songs straight.

We played "Message in a bottle" on easy like 3 times in a row on coop (love the solo)


After that for like a week I couldnt stop doing the solo in my head...and I caved..

I had to buy it..

I just beat it on medium the other day, and now im training my damn PINKY to hit the damn orange key.

lol Jess, dont get discouraged, it took me a LONG time to beat those 2 on GH1, you should be proud you got 95 on it, its not easy.

I am still trying, but just not as often as I should probably. Funny thing...I talk about Guitar Hero at school to my students a lot. Several of them even got it for Christmas after hearing me talk so much about it. Monday night (this week is Spring Bread for us) about 20 min. til 10 o'clock, a group of 5 students showed up at my front door wanting to play GH! I was like don't you guys remember that I have a 4 year old who is in the bed asleep right now and plus the game is upstairs. They asked if they could come back Wed. afternoon and play. I never really answered them and wouldn't you know, yesterday afternoon they showed up again. It's pretty bad, but I didn't even go to the door! I asked Dale if he ever got the idea to go visit one of his teachers when he was a teenager out riding around. I don't know what they were thinking, but I definitely have to STOP talking so much about GH at school! toothysmil

I made him go to the door first because I was sitting here in my PJ's. I knew the kids were out there, because my parents are our watchdogs (we're neighbors with them) and they had just called me and said a bunch of kids were on their way out our driveway. They were too scared to drive all the way up the drive and just parked out by the road. My parents thought they were about to toilet paper our yard, so my dad went outside and shined a flashlight on them and was yelling at them! That scared them pretty bad, but they still had the guts to ring the doorbell. Instead of Dale telling them to scram, he just told them to wait and I'd be down. They were all high-schoolers (1 senior boy, 1 junior girl, and 3 freshmen girls). I am like the coolest teacher at our school!!! What can I say, they just love me! :rock
