I played the all today. First time for me. I did not "waste" my money on the HDD for S2.

I like them. They are very fun. I can't even remember the name of the one that I like the most....

Anyway the one with the subway..Afterhours I think..I got killed by a glitcher the first time I played it. GAY GLITCHERS. They did not wait even one day. The guy was behind one of the cig-dispensing machines (some kind of vending machine) AND in the wall. It seems however that a nade killed him in his spot....not sure.

I played them all multiple times today, finally S3 has some multiplayer maps!

Did they make any changes to map layout or did they keep it exactly as they did in S2?

How many of you are actually gonna pay for the maps when the trials done?

I dont know. Heres what i do know...

Battlefield 2 came out about the same time as Socom 3 and here's where the 2 games stand right now...

BF2:
Main game released
3-4 patches released
$20 Special Forces Expansion pack released (included all new vehicles, skins, weapons, abilities, and like 10 new maps)
$10 Euro Force Pack released with new skins, weapons, vehicles and maps
$10 Armored Fury released, same deal
Basically you've got 4 games there in 1 year with 4 patches for like $90.

Socom3:
Main game released
Yesterday we got our 3rd "patch of obscurity" (does anyone know what these things actually fix? lol)
$6 Three maps released that they released 2 years ago and made us pay for those when those came out, and made us buy a $100 HDD to play them.
Basically you got 1 game with 3 new maps for $56. And they made you pay $115 bucks to play the maps they are re-charging you for now.

Ok so BF2 - 30-40 maps (Chenzo can correct my numbers) i cant even count how many vehicles, skins, weapons there are now, and Socom 3 has 15 maps and the same weapons and skins and vehicles as it had when it launched.

I think its worth the extra $36 dollars, especially when you count the HDD and the demo discs you had to buy, or the flash drive you need to buy now. Silly. Just damn silly.

ZIPPER, CALL EA, IT'S OK TO ADMIT YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO DO SOMETHING...

Only stupid people paid for the maps on S2. Or poeple who don't have friends.

I have friends.... guess I fell into the 'stupid people' section.... lol

Maybe your friends are not nice people. Maybe I got hooked up with really cool [WsW] friends.

I fell into the Stupid people category... but at least I got all three maps on one disk rather than buying the three different magazines first.

You are right and you lucked out on that one. I loved how they NEVER said that they would put ALL three maps on one disk at the end. They just had us all purchase the magazines for the maps....perhaps they should have done that this time?

Zipper has some catching up to do. Maybe the owners should sell the company to someone who takes the customer serious. I get the impression, and have for a good while now, that Zipper is simply out of touch when it comes to customer support.

Granted, the SOCOM series is a great series. But, that's not good enough these days. You gotta go the extra mile to keep up with the customer's expectations. Zipper has never done that.

Sounds like EA has it figured out while Zipper is still patting themselves on the back for S1.

And yet we keep buying the new games, forking over the dough for the inferior product and service.

Everyone’s a critic!

No one from Zipper/Sony made anyone buy the game. Those companies are designed to make money, and that’s what they do.

-I’ll but the map pack.
-I’ll but the next map pack.
-I’ll but the one after that.
-I’ll but the skins pack or weapon pack if they ever make one.

I don’t remember reading anything that guaranteed me I would get free stuff for purchasing the game. Why would anything be different from S2? I paid for my game and I got a game. The people who work at Zipper/Sony that make that stuff need to get paid for working (or they wouldn’t work) and I don’t mind paying for their services.

I wouldn’t complain about my barber because my hair grows back. I paid for my haircut and got a haircut. That deal was finished when I left. If I wanted a trim everyday I should consider a flowbee.

Ya but if there was a barber that gave you a great haircut and a free comb and blowdry every time you went there, youd go back to him...

[SS]Hoot

Exactly... why pay for the inferior service?

BAM! Wrong answer!

I don't hair. I don't need the barber and I don't need a haircut, even though I had hair at one point in my life.

That is exactly my point. The barber and I don't have an agreement for future business. There's no clause for future hair growth or lack of future hair growth.

If you keep going to the barber who doesn't offer a free comb and free shampoo with each haircut, it must be because you like him. Regardless of his strong/silky (depending on what you're into) hands.
