Hey Nearbeer, I haven't seen your clan around for a while. Its nice to see you guys are still around. BTW that gun in the link will be in SOCOM III and you will be ables to customize it. Well it at least looks that way from the movies I saw of the in game footage.

The XM8, huh? Very nice weapon. That is being planned to replace the M16/M4 as the standard weapon in our armed forces. Its cheaper, lighter, easier to clean, and works better. I cant wait to see that thing in real combat usage.

I watched an episode of Mail Call on the history channel where they did a segment on the gun. They showed how easy it is to swap parts out to go from a typical assault rifle, to a long range sniper rifle, or to a close quarter type of weapon.

If you follow some of the other links to the Army times you will see some other weapons also we are considering for the use in the armed forces. And to answer the one gentelmans question on Socom 3 the press release says august on gameshots, 1up says October so you guess , yesI beleive the XM8 dubed the M8 in Ghost Recon will be one of the weapons showcased from the screen shots in 3. Realize that the developers change things alot ieven from the version we see advertized to the finnal product after alpha and beta tesing. We saw that in SOCOM 2. Hopefully they will catch up to the real world weapons we are using now and some of the weapons for next year and the next few years. Keep in mind this weapon will be distributed to some first line units next year.
