Picked this up today... looks pretty good, about like Vice City. Gameplay is same as ever. I think it might be real, real big. Map is very detailed.

You start as a guy coming back to LA. Your guy looks and dresses a lot like Nelly and lives in what I think is supposed to be Compton. Evidently, things been getting crazy on his block, so he's gotta step up. Think of it as living in the movie "Menace II Society".

That's all I really learned tonite. Oh, I found a double-dong in the police station shower... you can use it as a melee weapon.

I love it! This game is keeping me to my playstation when ever I have time. Actually, its booting up as I type this. I love all the GTAs. I've been playing then since like 1996 or something with the first GTA for PS1. I would recomind this for any one over the age of 17 (Drops the "F" Bomb a lot).

This has to be the most politically incorrect game ever.

I can't believe Rockstar had the balls to actually show things how they are rather than doing some corporate sugar coating.

Ok, i'm going to write a better review of this game when i'm done with it, but holy shit! I have never seen so much attention to detail since doom3 and that was just kind of a different level. This thing has just about everything you can think of in a video game combined into one. Everything from using stealth kills to rocket launchers, collecting things like the tags, oysters, cars etc, eating to maintain muscle, working out and learning new moves, not to mention the awesome storyline (so far) and great voice acting. Man that makes such a difference.

Obviously lots of the game is go here, kill these guys, drive back with a 4 star wanted level without damaging your car. But damn, its fuckin fun! Its not all destruction either, you can be the cops and bust the bad guys, you can be a firefighter and put out fires, be a cabbie, courier, trucker, race car driver, i mean holy shit, the game has off track betting and just about every major casino game available to play. You guys played the basketball game yet? the video games? have you grabbed the parachute and jumped off shit?

k, gonna stop now...but if i was stranded on a desert island with my ps2 and a widescreen tv and a monkey on a bamboo treadmill to power it all up, and only 1 game to bring...I'd bring GTA-SA.

Ok so i beat this thing after i dont know 50-60 hrs of gameplay. I think i'm only like 65% complete after completeing ALL of the main storyline missions as well as collecting ALL of the 100 gang tags, ALL 50 photo ops and ALL 50 horseshoes. I had done some scattered asset missions too. But shit, ALL that and only 65% complete?! All i know is one of the requirements for 100% completion is to buy all of the safe houses. Which i did. After i went to the casino and turned 1 million into 5 in about 30 mins. Then i grabbed the jetpack and flew around and bought the rest of the safe houses.

Anyway, there's like a third of the game left for me. Between all the races, the quarry missions, the misc odd jobs like courier and taxi and vigilante missions and all that, but damn, the incentive just isnt there for me to want to beat it to 100%. All i can tell you is go try the one challenge where you have to ride the crotch-rocket in the pool/halfpipe thingy and collect all the little floaty things. C'mon, did these guys ever test this thing? It's silly ridiculous. Theres a BMX one just like it too and just as hard. Those kinds of things are not fun for me.

However, the storyline was sweet and ended nicely, shooting people is great, make them catch fire is great, base jumping, great, flying all the diff things is great (my new thing is grabbing the harrier jet and flying over the restricted area and getting a few jets to scramble then shooting them down) grabbing a bunch of gang members and rolling the streets is great, sniping, great, pretty much everything is great except the fact that, its really essentially over once you do all the main storyline missions. I mean you COULD do those other missions like the ambulance ones etc., but they are more hair-pulling fun than real fun.

5 star game for sure. great replayability, even right after youre done, you almost want to go back and do it again. But if they do another one, which i hope they do, GTA Today? present day? I hope they make more things accessible right from the start rather than "opening' them up as you go. I would've liked to have been able to make a bunch of money early on by stealing and delivering cars to the crane, but that doesnt open till like halfway thru. I'd also like to see some way of them being able to sort of let you hang out in an area more. I mean i know that kind of sounds opposite of what i just said, but what i mean is , ive never really seen the area where the Vinewood sign is, i dont know that area cause there were really no missions that took place there. I think they need to spread the missions around geographically so that you get to experience ALL major parts of the map and not just by speeding thru them at 120+mph.
