My new favorite show. I am all about the zombies. What really grabs me though is how they come up with life on "Planet of the Zombies" in all these renditions and how they make it out to be a realistic event. :zombie-302:

Season one consisted of 6 episodes that aired on AMC from Halloween of last year to Dec 5. They are all on Netflix for those who have the streaming service. Season 2 episode 1 aired last night. There will be 7 total in season 2.

Yes Chief I agree that it does seem to be moving rather slow. I think they are just trying to draw things out as they search for ideas for episodes or major plots/twists. Dunno.

I really like this show because it's not some mindless running around shooting every zombie in the head show. It's real people dealing with the new way life is and adjusting to it. Love it. The zombies to me are just an extra bonus whenever they do pop up.

I agree. Last season was a bit slow (more so the first part of this season). I’m sure they were just building characters. But it does deal with what would happen. I think what folks are also missing. To become a Zombie, you have to be ‘infected’. So usually...when you run into say...six or more zombies. Odds are you’re not going to live. Thus, the number of zombies IMO would be limited. There wouldn’t be an army of them walking around.

This is how the show keeps me sucked in:

1-What happened to the old man and his kid from the last season? They got a walkie talkie fom the sheriff and that's the last we heard of them?

2-Hillbilly's brother, where he at? He sawed off his hand on top off the roof and we haven't seen him since.

I'm more than positive all this will come full circle. That's why I love this show.

Not sure if anybody here has followed the graphic novel. I haven't but I've heard some details about it.

I've read/heard they will introduce a certain character at some point. Not sure if it is this season or not though.

Anyways, an Asian chick (not sure of her name) shows up, just walking towards the group, brandishing a katana with a few zombies in chains. She looks bad ass...more bad ass than Shane. Lots and lots of speculation on this. I hope she makes an appearance.

And this is all speculation, so I don't wanna hear the spoilers crap.

Also, someone mentioned the black man and his son from season 1, like what happened to them. Apparently, in the graphic novel they show up later. Not sure if the TV series will bring those two back though.

Looking forward to next week. I don't think Rick will be able to pull the trigger on their captive. The trailer makes it look like he decided to kill him. Maybe he'll ask Shane to do it?

What's up with Lori. She goated both of them into action. She was all apologetic to Shane. Earlier she tells Rick that she's scared of him and he needs to do something (ie kill him) about it. Then she gets all mad when she was the instigator in the first place.

I was wrong about the Asian chick. Turns out she is black. The Talking Dead just announced the actress that will be playing her in season 3. Forgot her real name. This character name is Mishon or something like that.

The Talking Dead also said that Hershell was supposed to die but they couldn't get the scene right so they let him live.

So season 2 was all on the farm. It's looking like season 3 will all be in a prison. I wonder if it's abandoned, zombie filled, or controlled by human prisoners/guards.

The Talking Dead also announced that 33% of the black father, his son, or Merle will make an appearance in season 3. Sounds like Merle will be back (minus a hand of course).

^ I'm on Epidode 3 out of 5 for The Walking Dead game. It is addicting. Storyline is great. It's like watching an actual episode on tv, except you make the choices. Love it.

Snake, don't listen to Shooter. The show takes you on a emotional ride with the characters. Not everything has to be bang-bang shoot-em in the head zombie flick. Keep watching you'll be super hooked.

That's why I enjoyed LOST. They knew they were going to do only six seasons and call it quits. However, it did sort of drag on that last season......but still a series I enjoyed.

Why would they shoot Rick? His wife died. Any dude would go a little mental in a regular situation, much less with zombies milling around. I don't know why everyone is in a rush to just see action parts all the time. You want action? Go check out classic Chuck Norris films. My wife was like, "Why didn't they help him?" I told her that in situations like that, you can't save/help everyone. It depends on the situation. If maybe it was a family with kids on the road, then maybe they would've stop. But the dude was by himself, looked to be in decent shape and had a back pack for survival. Granted though, IMO, I think that backpack weighed him down for when zombies probably chased him down and ate him. Plus, you don't know who's stable and who isn't in situations like that also.

As messed up as it sounds, they did what they had to do for survival.

The theme of this season is not taking in new people based on the mystery of who they are and what condition they are in. It makes sense as to why they left the guy (according to the theme). I don't think anything will come of it later, I think it showed them picking up the pack because they didn't want there to be a great hole of WHY THE FUCK didn't they pick up the supplies. Pleasing the fans...facepalm.

The backpacker dude was classic. The group is going to have to find a way to screen folks before they're brought into the fold. Rick pushed Tyreece and his crew away to the Governor which might come back and be bad for the group.

I'm always trying to put myself in those folks shoes. What would I do. And I have to say, I'd go find another place like Hershel's farm to live on. The prison is great, but I'd have to be like Morgan and set-up a way to herd the dead in and clear them out. That would start to thin the heard around the prison...just a thought.

Hey, that's a good link Show. I read a bit on that page. Something in there puzzles me though.

The eponymous title of the series refers to the survivors, and not the zombies.
I was all "Whaaaaaaaaat?" I thought the reverse was true. It listed Talking Dead S02E06 as a reference for that claim (as well as issue #24 of the comic book, but I don't have access to that) so I went and watched that and did not notice any reference to this claim.

Did I just miss where they talked about it? Anyone have access to that episode and can help me find what approximate part in the after show discussion they talk about/mention it?

Does it make sense to you all that the shows title "The Walking Dead" refers to the living characters of the show and not just what's happening in the world? It's a bit puzzling to me and I am having a hard time accepting it I guess.

I have realized why I lost interest in this show.

I played the game.

The characters, story, events, the Feels, basically everything in the telltale game is head and shoulders above the show in every regard.

I just can't stand watching the show anymore, it seems weak and corny in comparison.

I still have interest and love the show, my only gripe is how far the show is behind the books. I just finished the second volume and it's a good amount ahead of the show already.

But at the same time, it's pretty cool having different flavors of the same product in different mediums. So, on the other hand I still enjoy it.

Okay so the whole Zombie theme is pretty played out and everything Zombie that comes out now fills me full of meh. However, The Walking Dead is still one of my favorite shows on TV, this premier is probably the reason why I find everything else zombie to suck so bad. I don't normally do this, but I seem to alway audibly say something during a walking dead episode which to me is a sign that I am really into the episode.

Oh btw show, she's hotter in real life ;) (met her in San Diego)

Also, her real accent will make you drop to your knees, it's a unique hybrid. She's American born, English raised, by Austrailian parents... Or some other combination of those three, but anyway it make her drop dead georgeous.

I don't know, I'm not 100% convinced. Obviously, the daughter and mom he's latched on as his new family. I think he felt that Martinez was too weak in his leadership and thus….took him out. I seem to remember at one point he was even saying to Martinez ‘why are you making me do this’ ‘or I don’t want this..’. He could still be taking the girls to Rick. But on the flip side, he might want some revenge.
My questions are: who took out that other camp? What was the point of going to survivalist house? I get that they went there to get food. But what was up with the severed heads in the room and walkers just hanging out? I don’t know…just thought it was a strange run off of the story.
Also in WWZ, they too had the Zombies walking underwater which makes sense. It also explains why they couldn’t keep walkers out of the camp as they just walked up from the lake. I guess the Zombies ate all the fish? We’ll see how this whole Zombies in water plays out. So far, it’s keeping my interest.

I saw the previews for next week, and it's clear "Brian" is not changing his ways at all. However I figured that out after he fed one guy to the "biters" and stabbed another, then placed him in the lake for frequent viewing. ...his new "freak show"...

As for the biter that came after his new little girl, I feel that biter was let loose on purpose to rile up the camp.

My thoughts on the survivalist cabin is that he was not the only wacko. Some other nut had the idea have a zombie head collection, and it just put "Brian's" old ways back to the forefront of his mind. As to the other camp that got taken out: that just pressed to Brian that he needed to get his camp out of the open cause they are too vulnerable. Hence the focus once again on the prison for him.
As for bringing the girl to Rick's camp, I thought that at first but then after the above it is clear he has decided to once again be the "gov" of the new group and the best way to "survive" is to take the most defensible camp for himself - the prison. HE'S GOT A TANK NOW!

So ya interesting things are about to unfold.

I forgot to mention something that bugged me in that episode. The Govinator told his group that Rick's group wiped out the Woodbury group......buuuuuuut....no one batted an eye when Rick -at the fence- told the Gov AND his group that he had intigrated what was left of the Woodbury into his own and how some of them were now leaders in his prison group.

I was all OOOOO! Someone's gonna do a, "But you said....", but no one even flinched.... Maybe I need to watch that again to make sure...

The only thing I hated about this last episode is the break. Now we have 2 months of no walking dead.

I had a bet going with one of my friends. We were betting who was going to die. Small stakes. Winner got a Coke.

I had Maggie. My only info was that she was scheduled to be a guest on the Talking Dead after the mid-season finale. My friend chose Tyrese. The funny thing is how each of us considered Herschel.

Some questions still remain. Like what happened to Ricks new baby? When will the group get back together? I'm thinking 1 or 2 of them finds Carol and she will get brought back to the mix.

I can't hold it. After watching last Sundays episode I have to share my prediction. First things first...

SPOILER ALERT!!!! DON'T READ IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED!!

And second: I only know about the TV series. So if it has not been shown then I do not KNOW and I do not want to know. I am just ..."deducing".

I THINK that Rick is testing the new community. He knows they are watching and listening to the groups every move and conversation. The new community is presenting as all nice and well...just like old pre zombie life. But the incident with the community leaders son tells me that is just the surface. I think Rick see that as well. And his statement of “We won’t get weak," “That’s not in us anymore. We’ll make it work. If they can’t make it, then we’ll just take this place.” is bait to call their bluff. He knows they are listening.

Kinda basing it on their ability to get information on them long before making contact as well as the gun in the blender thing. "Dude! Where's my gun!"

The new series (title to be announced) will be set in Los Angeles and focused on new characters and storylines. The show’s first season will consist of six one-hour episodes and premiere on AMC in late summer. The show’s second season will air in 2016.

Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert from The Walking Dead are executive producers of the new series, which, like the original, is being produced by AMC Studios. Dave Erickson (Marco Polo, Sons of Anarchy), who co-created and co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman, is an Executive Producer and Showrunner. The series will star Cliff Curtis (Missing, Gang Related), Kim Dickens (Gone Girl, Sons of Anarchy), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Storm).

“We take incredibly seriously the notion of building a satisfying companion series to the number one show on television. From the beginning of The Walking Dead on AMC, we’ve been asked questions about what was going on in other parts of the zombie apocalypse, and what it looked like as the world really did ‘turn.’ Through this new series, we’re going to find out,” said Charlie Collier, AMC president. “Robert Kirkman, Dave Erickson and their writing team, along with an incomparable set of producers, cast and crew have created something remarkable and clearly distinct. We respectfully follow the request of Monty Python as we bring out (the latest of) our Dead.”
