anyone know how to do this? I've been searching forums all day for a solution and been on the phone with my router company and ISP. I need to get my PS3 to have an OPEN NAT (can't play GTA IV online because my router settings are too strict) ANY help is greatly appreciated :brick-wall-101:

I would think that it would have to do with the ports being open in your router. Best thing to do might be to call up Sony and see what ports are required to be open, then go into your router and open them...

i KNOW there's a thread about this somewhere in here no? and you dont actually open the nat, you would have to open a port, try enabling port forwarding on your router or setting your xbox port to the DMZ , that should work.

I've tried it all and still can't get this to work, I might have to bridge my connections between router and modem I think. I dunno but I finally got GTA IV to work so I'm good to go now, I don't have any problems playing online on any game but I do have trouble finding matches sometimes and I think that's the NAT stuff that causes that

I know this is for the 360 and not PS3, but maybe it'll help?

you need to go into your routers ps3's setting and write down the MAC address. Its a series of pairs of numbers and letters (like so 0A:1B:2C....)

Then go into your router setting and look for a place to give out static IP's.

Put in that mac address and assign it an Ip similar to the ones your router is giving out. standard is 192.168.1.? . If it is, give it something like 192.168.1.66

Then go into the DMZ section of your router and put in the address you just set. 192.168.1.66 in my example. Apply your setting and your should have an open NAT 1.

OK I've got my XBOX Live good now! I put that mac address into my router settings. Is there any way I can do the same for my PS3 or is it only 1 mac address at a time?
