its not a real one because the action was the trailer for halo 3 its not a movie it was just a short

I know there was talk of a halo movie I wasnt sure if it ever panned out though.

So Im gonna call it an amazing fake or promotional video for the game

Ok The first part is the opening scene from a movie called "Contact" with Jodie Foster. And the part after that was the trailor for both the game and the movie. There was a movie, it was written and casted BUT not finished filming because it was costing too much money for what the projected outcome of the box office so they cut it. Sad thing was I was actually looking forward to the movie....then I played the game.

Note that the opening scene was not in the actual trailor so it is not a possible lawsuit, someone put them together.

eagh. On imdb, it isn't officially cancelled. One can hope. . . Though there are plans on the drawing board for a movie on the Fall of Reach

I remember reading about that Halo "trailer". It wasn't a fan film, it was done by an actual director with the hopes of landing the actual movie to write and direct - if I remember correctly. The job eventually went to someone else. But his little short looks excellent.

In regards to the Halo film actually being made, it's been shelved for a few years now. I think that if it didn't come out during the peak of the Halo series, it probably isn't going to be coming out at all.

I don't think it's fan made. The guy that directed it (Neill Blomkamp) was actually signed on to do the Halo series before it fell on hard financial times. The reason he was signed on was because of the 3 short films he did regarding Halo, there's a couple on youtube I think. I remember seeing at least one more short movie that he made.
